This Boy is My World

Hey there friends, how's your Friday going so far?!  Mine has been kinda crazy filled with those little curve balls that life likes to throw at you from time to time but that's okay.  I'm sure this too shall pass plus it's almost 5 o'clock......wait, it's already 5 o'clock somewhere RIGHT!!

I've got an oldie but goody to share with you today.  This is a layout I did a couple years back:

This one is very simple because I really liked the pattern on the paper and I didn't wanna cover it up to much.  All I did is mount the photo onto blue cardstock.  Then I cut the oval frame and the tag behind the photo with my Cricut.  I did a little stamping and embossing on both of them to add a bit of interest.

Here is a closer look at the journaling.  Well friends that's it for today.  Be sure to come by tomorrow for the Grandparent's Day Blog Hop!

I also want to send a shout out to NAT ALEE!
WELCOME!!!!

Have a Fabulous Friday!!!!!

Smile - Universal Studios

Hello, Hello!
How are you doing today, great I hope :D  I'm doing alright, just taking care of some business and wrapping up some projects with upcoming deadlines.   Last night I finished up my project for the Grandparent's Day Blog Hop hosted by Erica's Craft Room.  That's coming up on Saturday so be sure to join us.  There are some beautiful projects and blog candy in the line up that you don't wanna miss.  Since I was working on that I don't have a new project to share today so I dug into my vacation scrapbook for this one:

This is from our trip back in 2007 (man that was a long time ago!).  I pulled my colors straight from Thing 1 & Thing 2.  This also happens to be one of my FAVORITE color combos :D

I used my handy dandy Cricut to cut my tags and inked the edges with some Colorbox Chalk.

This tag was also cut with my Cricut and then stamped with blue Colobox Chalk.

If you look to the far left, you can see the journaling is on an inverted tag.  This was a miss cut that I didn't want to go to waste ;D  The title is chipboard that I painted to match.   I did a little decorative cutting on the ends of the red polka dot paper, some tearing and a bit of doodling to finish things off.  Easy Peasy Lemon Squeezy!

Well friends I've gotta run but before I go, I'd like to WELCOME Carol.
Carol, THANK YOU so much for visiting and deciding to follow along.  I really appreciate all of you and look forward to reading your comments each day.   They really lift my spirits especially on those days that are WAY less than perfect.  So THANK YOU all very much!!!

Have a Beautiful Day!!!

Yay It's Finally Friday!!!

Hey there, I'm back home!  We came in yesterday for my son's birthday and I made him the big dinner he wanted.  It's really nice to go out on vacation but there is no place like home so I'm really happy to be here.  I'm not sure what we're doing this weekend but I'm sure we'll be doing more for my son's birthday.  Anyway, today I'm sharing a fun Sponge Bob layout from our trip to Universal Studios a few years ago.

Notice how my son is kinda far from Sponge Bob, for some reason he was a little scared of him.  He was fine with all the other characters so not sure why Sponge Bob freaked him out a bit, lol.

Okay, I started out with blue cardstock and drew in the yellow flowers and seaweeds.   I fussy cut the Sponge Bob on the left is from some toy packaging and the jellyfish is a foam sticker that I outlined with a white pen to add some detail.  Well my friends, that's it for today!  I'll be back on Monday :D

HAVE A WONDERFUL DAY & THANKS FOR STOPPING BY!!!!!

Soaked - Universal Studios

Did you have a great weekend?!  Well I hope you did :D  Today I'm sharing one of my favorite layouts.  This is one I did awhile back from our trip to Universal Studios in Florida.  I really like the fun bright colors on this one.

I used blue cardstock for my base then pulled colors from the photos as accents.

The "S" was cut using my Cricut and the rest of the letters are chipboards from my stash.   I also used a LYB border and fish rubons plus Dr. Seuss stickers.  I did a little journaling in Photoshop as well as some handwritten journaling.

Well, that's it for today!  I've gotta run into town for some errands so it's gonna be a busy day.  I'll stop by and visit all of you this evening.  Have a Wonderful Day!!!

Round & Round

TGIF, right?!!  I'm pretty happy we made to the weekend.  Having the holiday smack down the middle of the week kinda through me off.  Anyway, I've got a fun layout to share with you today.

I used my Cricut for just about everything on this one, the circles, the hearts, flowers and of course the title :D

Here is a closer look at the journaling.
Thank you so much for stopping by today.  I'm not sure what the weekend has in store for us but I hope it's good and I hope you have a wonderful weekend too!!!

Hero Island - Universal Studios

Hi Friends!!  I hope everyone had a smooth Monday.  If not, believe me the weekend will be here in a blink of an eye, lol.  Ok, so remember when I posted Kappow - Capt. America last week?  I said I had some more comic book themed layouts to share......well here they are:

This two page layout is on black cardstock.  I found some comic book paper at my LSS for the city scene.

The title is a sticker (Marvel Heroes) and rubon letters.  I cut out the superheros on the left form my nephew's toy box. I used a silver metallic pen for the journaling and the phots are from our trip to Universal Studios.

I added the journaling on this one in Photoshop.  I wanted to stay with the comic book style.  Well, it's time to tend to that to do list.  I have A LOT of cleaning to do today :(  I'd much rather be creating somthing pretty but if I don't clean NO ONE will so I better get to it.

Thanks for visiting me today & have a blessed day!!

Kappow - Capt. America

Happy Tuesday everyone!  I've got a very cool layout to share with you today :D This is from our trip to Universal Studios a few years ago.  I was inspired by a layout I saw in an issue of Scrapbooks Etc so I set out to make my own version.  I cut the large shape with my Cricut and I printed the Kappow then mounted it on chipboard.  I attached the vellum America with some white paint and used some chipboard letter for Capt.  Ok..now you know I just had to ink up the edges to finish it out, lol! Captain America was so nice to my little guy :D  We had such a great time meeting all the superheroes.  I'll share some more comic book themed layouts in the future ;D  Before I go, I wanna give you a quick update on the upcoming Blog Hop!  I picked up my blog candy for Friday and will post a pic on Thursday.  Last but certainly not least, I'd like to welcome our newest friend Kelly!!  Thanks so much for joining us and thanks to everyone for taking the time to leave me a comment.  I really look forward to reading them each day :D  That's it for now, take care!!

Two Peas in a Pod - The Grinch, Universal Studios

This is one of my favorite layouts, not because of the design & composition but because of the photos.   As you know by now, my DH is a complete nut, lol.  He can also be a BIG Grinch during Christmas, but luckily (for him) that has changed over the years :D  So when we went to Universal Studios he had a little fun with the Grinch:

I really had fun scraping these pics!  The journaling up top reads:
Yes, it's true my husband has been called a Grinch before.  At one time I even thought they may have been separated at birth but I'm happy to report that he can no longer be called Grinch.

See the resemblance!!  Leave it to him to try and choke the Grinch, lol :D  The Dr. Suess quote was just perfect for this photo, don't you think!

The bottom journaling reads: You see when Joshua was born his heart grew three sizes that day!  Now a days he looks forward to Christmas morning just to see the smiles on Joshua's face as he opens his gifts.

Well, I hope you enjoyed today's post!  Have a Wonderful Father's Day weekend!!
Thank you all for comments & Welcome to our newest friends Analisa & Gina, THANKS so much for joining us :D

The Wild

I've got some more Universal Studios goodness for you today!  I think this is one of my favorite layouts, I really love the way it turned out:

These guys were so much fun!  They made a really GRAND entrance with music blaring, it definitely felt like the party was kickin off, lol!

I used my Cricut to cut the circles and title.  Then I just went to town with the sewing machine and added the crazy stitching.  I used a punch to round all the corners and inked them up for a softer look.

Well, I hope you liked today layout :D
Thanks so much for visiting me and for all the feedback on my mixed media piece!!
TTYL!

Blast Off!

I went BIG & BOLD on this layout, opting for just one large photo.

Since it was a layout with Jimmy & Dora, I split the design in two.  Jimmy's side is all about space and Dora's is softer with flowers and a background paper that reminded me of a Mexican pattern.
Well, thanks so much for stopping by!!
Adios!!

NASCAR

Hello Friends!  I hope you all had a wonderful weekend :D  I'll tell you all about mine in just a minute but first here is a layout from our trip to Universal:

My son LOVES cars so he wanted to take pics with every single car on display.  I seem to have a problem narrowing down the photos I want to scrap so I tend to use a lot on my layouts.  I've got a total of seven on this bad boy :D  I wanted to keep the colors simple since the cars are so colorful.  I found the NASCAR image online and printed it out on photo paper.  The blank and white checker pattern is part of the downloaded image.

"Friends along the way" is also a downloaded font that I printed out.  I hope you're able to read the journaling on the photo.  This nice lady was trying to take her photo and my bratty son ran up to take his pic.  Believe me, his Dad and I told him to get out of the photo but the boy would not move!  We were starting to get upset with him so she gracious invited to share the pic with her.

Okay, on to our weekend!  My DH had to go out of town on business so we all decided to tag along.  We had a great time and packed a lot of fun into a day and a half.  I was trying to get on here to do some blog reading on the drive but my mobile network was giving me a hard time.  I opened a window from my dashboard to read a blog and leave a comment but somehow I ended up on somebody else's blog.  It was some who was also leaving a comment.  Anyway, I looked around the new blog and decided to follow.  I left a comment and let them know I was a new follower but when I closed the window...........I realized I was on someone else's blog!  So if I left a message on your blog calling you Millie, I'm so sorry!  It was my laptop and mobile network fighting each other and making my life miserable, lol.  After that little mishap, I decided to leave blogger alone until I got back home.
Well, I have to run.  My house is starting to look a mess and I need to run to the store to get a few things for the week.  Thanks to everyone who stopped by over the weekend and took the time to leave me a comment! :D  I plan on catching up on my blog reading tonight.
Have a wonderful day!!

The Lost Continent

Hello friends, I've got another layout from our trip to Universal Studios for you today:
I downloaded the for the title and used some Once upon a time velum.  Super simple layout here, nothing fancy at all but I'm still pretty happy with the way it turned out :D

WARNING: DOGGIE TALK FROM HERE ON OUT :D

Thanks for all your lovely comments about my four legged babies :D  They mean the world to us!
@Melissa, no we're not breeders but we did breed our dogs last fall.  They are our family pets and it was one time breeding.
@Kayla Renee, they definitely keep me busy!  I have this sign shaped like a dog bone that reads, "Today's agenda: Take Dog Out, Bring Dog In".  I feel like so much of my day is taken up with taking my babies out, feeding them, taking them out again and bring them back in, then repeat, lol.  It can be so exhausting sometimes.  We live on two acres and have one acre reserved for the dogs.  This area is fenced in for them to run and play but I still have to walk them out there and make sure they have plenty of water while they're out playing.
@Melissa, Baby is totally in charge.  They all step away from the food bowl when she comes around, lol.
@Tanya, Happy Birthday to Griffin!!  Ours ABs are more of the Johnson type.  I really love this breed, they can get such a bad rap just because of their appearance but they are total companion dogs and love their families so much.  We have never had a problem with our babies, they are all so sweet and love on everyone that comes around.   I'm gonna have to look for pics of Griffin on your blog :D

Take care everyone, hope I didn't bore you with my doggie talk!  I really am a HUGE dog lover and my four legged babies mean the world to me.  Thank you for all your nice comments!!

Discover - Universal Studios

I've got part deux of our Jurassic Park experience at Universal Studios in Florida:
For this layout I stuck with the torn edges and camo pattern paper but choose orange for the anchor color to match the accent colors of the jeep.  I cut my title with my handy dany Cricut :D

My son had a blast at the Discovery Center just playing and learning from all of their cool exhibits.  Well, gotta run ;D  My DH came back into town last night so we enjoyed some good family time and today we're gonna try to take it easy and spend some more time together before he has to head out again.
Take Care :D

Jurassic Park

Well I added a little to my painting last night but it's still not even close to being done.  So..... I thought I'd share a layout with you instead but if you look to the left, you can see a little bit of my painting ;D (You guys were so much fun yesterday with my TEENY TINY teaser, your comments had me crackin up! :D)

This is a super simple layout.
I used a piece of 12x12 cardboard from the back of one of my sets and then adhered two strips of pattern paper.  Of course you know I had to tear them cuz I just LOVE doing that :D  Next I downloaded a Jurassic Park free font and printed on cardstock, torn around it and inked the edges.

I added all of the text on my pics in Photoshop, printed and mounted them on torn mats.  I made a pocket for my journaling tag and added ribbons.  I always try to use at least three different ones to add interest.  Finally, to finish out the layout, I added the palm tree rubon.
That's for today.....HASTA MANANA!! (until tomorrow)

Hot Rods!

Hello! I hope you're having a great Saturday with friends and family. This weekend, I'm enjoying some quality time with my honey and youngest son.  April is gonna be super busy for my husband so we're trying to get in a much family time as possible.

Since I haven't worked on any new projects, I thought I'd share one of my favorite layouts with you.  This is one I made back in 08 of my youngest.  Its a pretty simple layout but I really like the way it turned out because I think it really captures what he's all about.

For this layout, I used my Cricut, some rubons, stamps and 3-D stickers.  I also added digital frames and journaling to my pics with Photoshop.  Then inked all of the edges to finish it off!

Thanks for taking the time to stop by today!
PS.  I tried leaving comments on your blogs yesterday but I kept getting an error message.  I thought it was just my computer acting up but I guess it was actually a blogger problem.
