Happy Birthday Beautiful - Zeus and Zoe May Challenge

Happy Saturday Everyone!  Today I'm sharing my May challenge layout inspired by Riikka's gorgeous mood board.  Here is the LINK to the challenge in case you wanna take a look at the mood board and check out the fabulous prizes that this month's sponsors May Arts and Couture Creations are giving away to the winners.

My sweet little grand daughter just turned one and when I saw Riikka's board, I knew these pics of her birthday would be perfect.  I stayed with the soft pinks mixed with white and a tiny punch of fuchsia.  (You know I just couldn't resist adding a bright bold color, lol).

The base of layout is pink Bazzill, then a distressed layer of My Mind's Eye Lost & Found and on top of that is a piece of 7 Dots Studio, Love Me Hopefully from my Zeus and Zoe kit.  The 7 Dots paper had really cute medallions on it so I cut all of them out to use as embellishments.  I punched the top and bottom with a Martha Stewart scallop punch.  Next I stenciled some dots here and there with gesso and gave the edges a light white wash.

To matte my photo, I used some of the Paper Reflections accordion tags and a vintage handwritten letter.    Then I layered the circles that I cut out and a couple of the beautiful vintage crotchet trims from my Zeus and Zoe kit.

I painted over some of the gold buttons and the Prima Ruby Violet flowers to tone them down to match my layout.

I added a bow on her giant cupcake cake using some May Arts ribbon.

To finish off my layout, I added my usual doodling around the edges.  I just really like the idea of framing my projects and doodling does the trick for me.

Thanks so much for joining me today, I hope I've inspired you to play along with our May Challenge!

HAVE A BEAUTIFUL DAY!!!

This week their challenge is "Chic to be Shabby".  If you haven't played in their challenges yet, I highly recommend it.  Well friends I just heard my oven go off so I better get to it.  Thanks for stopping by today and have a beautiful day, hugs!!

Happy 23rd Birthday Day My Sweet Boy!!!

Today is the BIG day!  My sweet baby boy is turning 23 yrs old today :D  To celebrate his special day he asked me to make Shrimp Etouffee and my DH to make Pineapple Upside Down cake.  So we're heading back home to make him a special dinner :D

Okay, now for some scrapbooking!!  When he turned 21, I gave him a birthday album filled with special memories.

Here is a little peak into his album:
This was his first birthday with my DH.

He just had to lick the cake, lol!

These are just a few of the pages in his book, there are holidays and other special photos in it.

But this one is my very favorite, I had these photos taken when we were stationed in Germany.  He was about four years old in this photo.  I love the way he's looking up at me.  This boy drives me crazy but he means the world to me :D

Happy Birthday My Sweet Sweet Boy!!!

Happy Birthday Card

I've got a cute little birthday card to share with you today.  This came together super fast thanks to my Cricut and I even got to put my scrap papers to use :D

I really wanted to use that beautiful hot pink background paper but my scrap was a little too small for the card so I mounted it on black cardstock.  The black really helps the hot pink pop, don't you think?!  Next I pulled out my Celebrations & Beyond Birthday carts to cut the sentiment and that adorable little cake.  Since my cake is pink too, I needed to give it nice backdrop to show it off.   After digging through the scrap bins awhile, I found the perfect shade of green to save the day :D     Now to finish this baby out!  A little accent dots on the sentiment, some glitter ;D, flowers, and another little scrap piece of the hot pink pp and wa la all done!!

That's it for now!!  Have a beautiful day and thank you so much for stopping by :D

P.S. I've started working on three new 12x12 canvases so hopefully I'll have some new mixed media to share soon!  I'll post little sneak peeks on FB ;D

It's Your Day - Birthday #2!!

Hello Hello friends, today I've got a layout of my son's 2nd birthday!
We've covered the day he was born, his first birthday and the party to go with it so... today is all about his second birthday.  We had a blast celebrating with friends and family:

I have to be honest, this party was so much more fun than his first because he was running around and really enjoying the whole experience.  We rented a bounce house and the theme was Blues Clues.

I had so many photos that it just had to be a two page layout.  I used my Handy Dandy Notebook Cricut for this layout :D

I matted all of the pics with yellow cardstock and used my Cricut to cut the tags and the title.  I used the negative piece of some yellow paper I had in my scrap bin for my title.  I just love when I can put my scraps to use! :D

My little guy had such a wonderful day!!  Thanks so much for stopping by today!!!  Have a wonderful weekend!!!

1st Birthday Part II

Ok, yesterday I shared a layout of my son's first birthday and mentioned that we had a separate party with the whole family.  So here is the layout of that party:

For this layout, I used more of the party decorations.  The little face and number one are from the banner I used at the party.  I even added a napkin and attached it with brads.  His little shirt had the same character and I had his cake made to match.  I sure wish I would have taken a pic of it, lol.

Look how handsome my DH is!! :D
You know I still use that candle every year because it plays "Happy Birthday" :D

Thanks for stopping by today!!
My posting schedule has been way off lately because I started babysitting my adorable grandson and he's keeping me super busy.  I'm hoping to get a handle on things and get back into a routine soon.  I'm dying to get my hands dirty with some paint again.  Well, gotta run so have a good one!!

1st Birthday!

Today I've got a layout of my son's 1st birthday.  I used a card he received from a friend and some of the party decorations for this layout.

Don't you just love pics of babies eating their first cake!  The little bear sang "Happy Birthday" :D

This was on his actual birthday, then we had a big party with all our family and friends.

Lets Celebrate!

Morning!  I've got a quick post for you today of a card I made for a friend's birthday:
I used my scraps and cut out the scalloped circles behind the flower with my Cricut.  I've got pop dots under both flowers to add some dimension and "Let's Celebrate" is from a stamp.

I try to get my posts ready at night so they're ready to go live at 5am central time but last night after dinner I decided to relax with a little drink. ;D  Then I started watching the Real Housewives of OC while I was waiting for the final episode of the Atlanta Housewives Reunion to come on.  I missed it on Sunday so I really wanted to see it :D  Anyway, I thought I'd have some down time today, but my DH is already calling with a list of things he needs me to do :(  So I better get to work, I hope you all have a wonderful day!!

Oh, I almost forgot!  I'm glad you all liked the photo of my DH in the Jurassic Park layout.  He is super silly and I have a ton of pics of him cutting up while we were on vacation.  I still need to scrap the pics we took with the Power Rangers, he had EVERYONE cracking up with his antics!!  OK, now I really have to get to work cuz he's calling...........I'm sure to see if I've started on my to do list, lol.
TTYL!!

Its your day!

I've got a card to share with you today that I made for a friend of mine.  I used a ready made card and added the patterned paper then stitched around the card.  Next, I cut the center tag with my Cricut and used some foam adhesive to add dimension.  The stamp I used for the sentiment is from Michaels, I think it was from their dollar bin.  I inked all of the edges and added the ribbon to finish it off.

Today I'm hoping to finish a 11x14 mixed media canvas that I started working on last night so I can share it with you tomorrow.
Oh, I'm joining in on the Disney Week fun with Heather Lynn next week.  If you'd like to participate too, just clink the link to Heather's blog Random Recipes, Paper Crafts and Photos by HL for all the details.  The more the merrier right!!  So get ready for a week of adorable Disney layouts!!

HAVE A GREAT DAY & THANKS FOR STOPPIN BY!!!!
