Hi everyone!!  I'm so glad you've joined us today for our celebration.  This anniversary is extra special for me because it also marks the launch of Little Honey Bee Studios.  I was fortunate enough to cross paths with Carrie and her wonderful stamps at that time.  Today I'm blessed to call her my friend and grateful to witness the growth of her business.  Now you've probably  notice the those awesome stamps up above right.  I'm GIVING them away to one lucky follower along with a Little Honey Bee Studios something, something.  I'll announce the winner here on Tuesday, March 11th and all you have to do to be eligible is comment.  Okay, time for my project!!

I'm ready to "CELEBRATE" Easter!!  I altered this cute little chipboard bunny to display during the Easter season.

I used the 6x6 Prima Delight Paper Pad and just outlined my bunny.  I cut it out and glued it on, easy peasy.

Here he is all ready for stamping!

I used the Happy Day and Frida Por Vida clear stamp sets.  I stamped the flowers and streamers directly onto the bunny then colored them with my Prismas.  I added pearl beads to the centers of each flower.  Happy and the little bird are both stamped on the Prima paper then fussy cut.  I added shadows with Prismas and sparkle with Stickles.  The ribbons, flowers and bling are all from my stash.

Alright, it's time to send you off to your next stop so head on over to Amber's Blog!!

Pumpkin Patch Layout - Berry71Bleu Sept. Challenge

Hello, hello, it's my turn to post over at Berry71bleu for this month's mixed media challenge!!  Debbie is hosting this month and she provided a beautiful sketch to work with so this is my spin:

I love mixed media so I was really excited about Debbie's challenge.  Mixed media is a wonderful way to add depth and customize your projects with paint and inks.  It's kind of like an anything goes pass because you can mixed in anything you want.  For my layout, I started out with the beautiful papers from Maja Designs' Walking in the Forest collection.  The gorgeous background paper I used is called Autumn Poem.

I wanted to bring in some greens without covering too much of the beautiful Maja Designs paper so I did it by stenciling.  I used a Prima stencil with Golden Molding paste and fluid acrylic mixed with a Faber-Castell Gelato to get the color I wanted.  Once it was dry, I dusted the top with Vintage Photo distress ink.  I accented my layout with a couple Scrapiniec pieces that I sprayed with Lindy's Stamp Gang inks.

I created several layers using more of the Maja Designs Walking in the Forest papers and a torn piece of cardboard.  I love the texture that cardboard adds to a project, the corrugated ridges pick up paint really well.

For this little cluster, I cut rosettes from a sheet of Maya's Knitted Sweater.  It has a great chevron pattern on it.  I topped each rosette with some of my flea market jewelry findings.  I also added jute twine and an artificial rose.

Finally, I inked all of the edges with orange Liquitex soft body acrylic paint.

Here is a look at Debbie's original sketch, I flipped it and worked on the right side of the page.  I hope I've inspired you to play along with this month's challenge because we have some really great prizes up for grabs!!

Our main sponsor this month is Maja Design.
Maja Design Corp is based in Uddevalla, Sweden. We are dedicated to create unique and high quality vintage inspired patterned paper for scrapbooking and crafts. Maja Design was founded in November 2007, and since then, have grown to supply over 70 retailers in Sweden and 90 all over the world. Founder Marie Jansson says: "In the fall of 2004, a dear friend asked me to join her to a scrapbooking course. From that moment, I became totally amazed and thrilled by all the beautiful papers and decorations in the art of scrapbooking. After some time as a captivated scrapper, I got curious to create my own patterns. I have always had a devotion for colour and form. I had access to great printing facility, as I worked at a printers office. Since 2007, I have been blessed to be able to work with my great passion - to design and create coloured coordinated paper."

Upcycled Altered Art - Sept PWP Nesting Components kit

Happy Monday!  I hope you all are enjoying a wonderful start to your week.  Paper Wings Productions just released their new autumn themed Sept Nesting Components kit!  If you missed the release, you can see it HERE.  Dana Tatar shared a gorgeous fall banner.

The new kit contains the beautiful rich colors of fall along with the Owl Panel stamp set.

So I was inspired to create an altered heart using upcycled materials from my hoard stash.

This beautiful piece started it's life as a chocolate Valentines Day box, a dresser handle and brown paper bag.

I'd been saving this box for two years!  I always feel so great and less like a hoarder when I can use something that I've been saving for so long, lol.  I also used a recycled brown paper bag.

I cut the paper bag into strips and adhered to the box with Modge Podge.

After I covered the whole box, I applied a thin layer of gesso.  The gesso prevents the inks from seeping into the brown paper bag.

To create depth and texture, follow these steps:
1. Add a heart shaped layer of Lindy's Stamp Gang Fusible Webbing
2. Spray Lindy's Stamp Gang inks in the colors of your choice.  I used Tawny Turquoise, Burnt Umber, Cocklebells Coral, Glory of the Seas Gold and Opal Sea Oats
3. Sprinkle embossing powder over the fusible webbing.  I used Lindy's Golden Pumpkin Blush and the coarse black embossing powder from the kit plus Lindy's Desert Moon Turquoise from my stash.
4.  Heat with your gun to melt/set embossing powder.  The heat will also melt the fusible webbing creating folds and additional texture in your background.

I stamped the flowers from the Owl Panel onto the background and on white chipboard.  I fussy cut and added the floral sprays to the inside using foam dots.

The image I used is from the clipart included in the Sept kit.  I also stamped the owl onto a leaf and used the sentiment from the Owl Panel stamp set.

I embellished the heart using the Prima floral sprays and leaves included in the kit.  I also used a flower, artificial floral sprays and jewelry findings from my stash.

To finish off my piece, I used an old drawer handle that I secured with twine, cream colored fabric and the hand dyed ribbon from the kit.

For a complete list of products included in this month's kit, visit the Paper Wings Productions online store.  Thank you so much for stopping by and have a beautiful day!!!

I knew I wanted to alter a ships wheel for my July project so I searched and searched for a wheel but came up empty.  So I decide to create my own wheel.

I started out with a black crescent board.  (If your not familiar with crescent board, it's very similar to matte board.)  I used a platter to outline my circle and a t-square to mark the spokes.  To cut out my wheel, I used a box cutter and t-square to keep my cuts straight.

After adding some more detailed cuts to form the wheel, I applied a layer of gesso, tissue paper for texture and acrylic paint.

I added color with distress inks, fluid acrylic paints and Lindy's Stamp Gang spray inks.  I love the shimmer that the Lindy inks add to my project.  I stamped around the entire with the little lobster on the Seaside stamp set that came in July Nesting Components kit.

I chose this beautiful clip art image from the July Nesting Components kit as my focal images and built texture with my layers.  I used cream burlap, painted cardboard and muslin.  I white washed the Pink Paislee  Luxe circles from the kit.  Then I found a tag in my stash with the perfect mix of colors to tuck in the mix.  Next went a layer of inked book text.  Yup I managed to incorporate all of my favorite materials in this one piece :D

When I started to look for embellishments, I came across some empty bezels.  So I stamped the light house from the Seaside stamp set onto one of the tags I created in my Gelatos Tutorial Tuesday video.  All I did was cut it out to fit in my bezel then applied a layer of Faber-Castell glaze.  I also added in some flowers and the last of my starfish charms.

I hope I've inspired you to create your own shapes for your craft projects.  Now before I send you off to the next stop, I have a little blog candy for one lucky follower:

For a chance to win: leave a comment and be a follower.  I'll announce the winner on Tuesday, July 9, 2013.  Okay, make sure to head on over to Dana's Blog Next!!
