Christmas Hanger

Hello, Hello friends!  How has your week been going?!  Well I hope it's going better than mine is.

***DISCLAIMER: I'm about to do a little venting, so just skip to the next paragraph if you're not interested ;D*********
To say that my week has been stressful would be an understatement right now.  My dad had surgery this week but I couldn't go see him because my son came down with a sinus and ear infection.  So while he was in surgery, I was at the doctor with my little one.  Then there were other major work and family stressers that I'd rather not get into.  I did manage to get into my studio and cranked out two new projects.  You know what they say, crafting is cheaper than therapy, lol.   Yes, I know what you're thinking....whoa is me, lol.  I guess I just needed to get it off my chest a little, so thanks for listening ;D

Okay, know for some crafting!  I completed an ornament that I'll be using as a make and take project for PWP on Sat.  I'll share a pic of that as soon as I can, but for now, here is the other project I finished last night:

This is a little hanger that I made using a chipboard album that I bought at the dollar section of Michaels awhile back.  I just punched a second whole so I could hang it.

Here's a closer look at the beautiful PWP stamp I used.  You can find this stamp on these two sets: Jolly Old St. Nick & Saint Nick.  While I was working on my ornament, I ended up cutting a lot of circles in different sizes so I could figure out what would work best.  So I decided to try and use them up.  I ran the red circle through my Cuttlebug to emboss, then inked it up with some gold ink to add some more depth.  I was having trouble getting the white circle to adhere so I sewed it on.  Please excuse my wonky sewing, lol.

Next I found the perfect die cut on my DIL's workspace, sorry don't know who it's by.  Originally I thought I was gonna make a card but the die cut just seemed to big.  That's when I started digging through my stash and found the chipboard album.  I covered it with mauve colored cardstock to keep with the Victorian feel of the stamp.  Then just outlined the edges with red stickles, added some ribbon and wa la, done :D

That's it my friends, thank you so much for stopping by!
Have a beautiful day!!!!!

Project updates

Hello, hello!  Today I'm just poppin in to share what I've been working on:

I started on a paper mache house but haven't gotten back to it yet.  So far I have all the sides covered in vintage sheet music so it should go fast once I start working on it again.  I also started playing around with the idea of a Christmas ornament last night but I'm a bit stumped right now.  I'm trying to come up with some good projects for my very first PWP event on Saturday :D  So wish me luck ;D

On the home front, my little guy is home sick with a sinus and ear infection.  So we spent the morning at the doctors office, no bueno.  Well that's it folks!

Have a Terrific Tuesday and THANKS so much for stopping by!!!

Thanksgiving & the Riverwalk

Hi friends!  Did you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday?!  I hope you all had a wonderful time full of love, family and friends!!  We had an awesome time with all of our loved ones.  The week started out really hectic but by Wednesday we let loose, started cooking and enjoying the holiday.  Thursday we had a wonderful meal and relaxed.  So I'd like to share a few pics of our holiday with you!

Then Friday we did a little bit of shopping but not during the crazy doorbuster times.  Did you do some Black Friday shopping?  My DH and did it one year and swore we'd never do it again, lol.  We thought it would be fun but it was miserable, lol.

I'm still working on decorating the rest of the house but at least the tree is done!

Saturday night we headed downtown to see all the lights at the Riverwalk and even rode one of the barges.  My grandson love all the lights :D

I've just been enjoying my family and haven't even gone into the studio but I'll have to get back to work this week.  Gotta meet those deadlines that are creepin up on me ;D

Well thanks so much for stopping by today!  I'm so Thankful for the opportunity to make so many new friends this year through blogging and I'm really enjoying getting to you know all of you.    I'd also like to welcome my newest bloggie friend SteglitzOkeefe33!!  Thank you so much for visiting and deciding to follow along!!

Take care friends and have a wonderful Monday!!

A Little Christmas Cheer

Hi everyone!  Did you have a smooth Monday?  I did, so I have my fingers crossed that it'll stay that way for the rest of the week ;D   So are you crafting this week or focusing on getting ready for Thanksgiving?  I've been getting a little bit of crafting done in the evenings but not much.  I keep getting distracted with the Black Friday ads and Pinterest, lol.

Okay, today I'm sharing a card I made a few years back for a friend.  I used my Cricut Christmas Cheer cartridge for the beautiful sleigh and the gifts.

I added some faux stitching around the edges and did some embossing on the sleigh.  That's it, easy peasy!!  Well I'm off to do my last minute prepping for the holiday.

Thanks for stopping by & Take Care!!

You are my dream...

Happy Monday!  Can you believe it's already Thanksgiving week?!  I really don't know where this month went.  It feels like I blinked my eyes and it was gone.  I didn't even realize it was gonna be Thanksgiving already until last week so now I'm gonna be one of those crazy last minute shoppers, lol.  Oh well what can I say, I have been known to get caught up in my own little world :D  Hmmm...........I definitely suffer from procrastination too, it's how I roll, lol.  But hey, I always get things done and it's all good :D

Yesterday I got my first chance to get back into the studio in almost two weeks and I started working on some new Christmas projects.  Hopefully I'll get them done soon so I can share them with you.  In the meantime, here is a mini layout of my DH and I.

This is out of an 8x8 mini album that I made for my DH years ago and the photo was taken last year.  I try to add layouts of our special moments.   For this layout, I took my color ques from the photo and dug into my scrap bin.  It's a pretty simple layout but I love the way it turned out.

Thanks so much for stopping by and for all your super sweet comments.  I really appreciate all of you :D
Have a Beautiful Monday!!!

Popping in to say Hello

Hi friends, it's been awhile since I've posted so I thought I'd pop in to say hello and let you know what's been going on in my little world.  Things have been really wacky over here, you might remember that my DH and I went on vacation for our anniversary last week.  Well, we came back Saturday evening and that night my grandson got really sick while he was visiting his other grandparents and ended up in the ER.  The good news is that it was nothing serious just a stomach virus.  So Sunday I spent the day catching up on my cleaning.  On Monday everything was going fine until the evening, that's when my older son and I both caught the stomach virus.  So I spent that night and the next day completely miserable.  I think my immune system must have been down a bit from traveling because it hit me really hard.  In fact I'm just now starting to feel better but my appetite is still very low (that's a good thing if you ask me, hehe).  Last night my youngest decided to join in on the fun so now everyone in the house has had it except my DH.  I guess he's right about all those vitamins he takes everyday, lol.

I don't have any new projects to share so instead I'll show you the pics I took in Vegas.  Believe it or not, these are the only pics I took with my camera:

I don't think I'll be back to blogging again until next week because I'll need to catch up with work first.  I hope you all are having a wonderful week and I'll be back as soon as I can!!

Army Strong

Today I'd like to honor my brother-in-law Mike who served in the Marines, Army Reserve and National Guard as well as all of the other men and women of our armed forces. Thank you so much for your sacrifice and service.

Today I'm sharing a very personal layout.  This photo was taken after my basic training graduation ceremony.  My son had just turned two years old a couple of weeks before and this was the first time I'd seen him in 8 weeks.

Our visit was very brief because I was getting ready to ship out to my MOS training.  I was gone for a total of 16 weeks for all of my training.  It was very hard to leave my son for those four months but I knew it was the best thing I could to for us at the time and I have no regrets.  This layout is for my son and the journaling explains why I made the decision to join the Army.

I never would have imagined myself in the military but I loved every minute of it because it pushed me to my limits and taught so much about myself.  I am so proud to have served my country.

Thank you so much for stopping by and for all of your wonderful comments!

HAVE A BEAUTIFUL DAY!!!

Once Upon A Time

Hi Everyone!!  My DH & I are back from our little get away.  We were out in Vegas celebrating our wedding anniversary.  We had so much fun but it's always good to be back home.  It was the very first time we've ever gone anywhere without our youngest son and it was extremely hard for me.  I even cried a bit but do you think he missed us.....heck no.  He had a blast here with his big brother, lol.

Well, I had hoped to schedule some posts for when I was gone but I just didn't get around to it.  So I'm a day late with sharing this layout.  I wanted to share this one on our anniversary which was yesterday but better late than never I guess :D

I made a little book of our love story and used our photo as the cover.

The story is about how we met in fairy tale format.

The very last page is our wedding invitation but our love story had no end ;D

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I'm exhausted from our trip so I'm gonna go relax.
Enjoy your Sunday!!!

Building Up an Art Journal Page

Hi Bloggie Friends!  Did you all have a smooth Monday?  Mine was okay I guess :D.  I did manage to finish up my art journal page that I shared yesterday.  Here's a look at the finished pages:

Wanna see how I got from here to......
Here, no prob....just watch the video ;D

Did you like the music?!  Tell the truth, your booty was shakin right, right, lol!  I was actually talking in the beginning but I haven't figured out how to get the music to start after I'm done talking.   So even though I adjusted where the music started, you still can't hear me.  I was just saying that I was back and that I was gonna start building up my pages.  At the very end my battery ran out but all I did was add some rubons, journaling and doodling, nothing major.

Thank you so much for watching, please let me know what you'd like to see and I'll try and put something together for you.  I'm gonna be taking a little break from blogging starting on Wednesday, Nov 8th and will be back on Monday, Nov 12th.  My DH and I will be enjoying some much needed mommy & daddy time for our anniversary.  I'll have some post scheduled during that time but I won't be doing any blog reading.  I'm gonna give my honey my undivided attention ;D

THANKS SO MUCH FOR STOPPING BY & HAVE A TERRIFIC TUESDAY!!

New Art Journaling Video

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend, ours was pretty cool.  We spent Saturday at La Villita for their Dia De Los Muertos celebration.  It was so much fun, they had arts & crafts for the kids, performances by local dance troops, lots of artists selling their art and an awesome procession.  If you'd like to see pics from the event, visit my FB page.  I've uploaded a lot of pics from the event there.

Today I worked on some art journaling and made a new video to share.  This one went a lot smoother than my first attempts.  So here it is:

I hope you like this one, I tried to make it a lot shorter this time.

WELCOME to everyone who signed up to follow along over the weekend.  I so happy to stopped by and decided to follow :D

Enjoy the rest of you day!!

The Aviary: La Katrina - Day of the Dead

Hi there, just wanted to pop in real quick and let you know that I'm sharing a new project over at The Aviary:

The Aviary: La Katrina - Day of the Dead: Greetings peeps! Here's another bonus blog post for the week.  I want to remind everyone that there is still room in our classes at St...

An Evening to Remember

Happy Friday, Woot Woot, Let the Weekend Begin!!

Thanks so much for all you comments on our Halloween costumes.  We always dress up but I think this year's costumes were my all time favorite.  They really suited us, lol.

Next week is our wedding anniversary so I think I'm gonna take you down our memory lane and share some layouts featuring my honey & I.  What do you think, YAY ot NAY?!  Here is today's lovey dovey layout:

This was at least 14 years ago.  My DH use to work for the Chamber of Commerce so we got to go to so many fun events.  I loved getting to go out and buy fancy new dresses for the black tie affairs.  This event was at the Marriot Riverwalk hotel and he surprised me with a suite.  When we went up to the room he had chocolate covered strawberries and champagne waiting for us.  It was a really great night ;D

The beautiful paper I used is by Creative Imaginations and I really didn't have to do much to it.  I used a foam rose stamp with some silver paint to add a couple of roses.  Then I used my Cricut for the hearts and title.  A little ribbon, rubons, a button and some journaling and wha la, done!

Thank you so much for joining me today!  I also wanna send out a BIG WARM WELCOME to Denise! Thanks so much for following along Denise!!

Have a wonderful weekend, I might be back a little later with a PWP project (maybe, hehehe)!  If my project gets posted, I'll let you know ;D

Halloween 2012

Hi Everyone, I've been dying to show you our costumes!

We had so much fun last night and my DH was such a good sport.

I absolutely LOVE this pic of us!!

My son was a Minecraft Creeper.  Every year we go out on a trick or treat hayride and this year was the first time our grandson got to go.  He's almost 2 yrs old and he loved every minute of it.  It didn't take long for him to catch on to what he was suppose to do, lol.

I hope you all have a great night too, it's getting late so I better get to bed.  Thanks so much for stopping by and have a wonderful day!!  Happy Nov, time to start planning for Christmas!!
