Essence - Mixed Media

Hello, hello!  I've got a new wooden canvas to share with you today.  I don't really have a name for this one yet but I'm thinking along the lines of Essence or Purity, Idk.  She kinda represents the essence of every woman to me.  She is beautiful and pure, she comes from deep within my soul.

I'm loving colored hair these days.  So I gave gorgeous locks filled with magenta tones.

The color palette came from the left over paints that I was using on my fairy canvas.  Whenever I had an excess of paint left over I just slapped it on this one.

I was searching through Pinterest and found a photo that inspired my sketch.  The bohemian accents were just sitting on my desk and I really liked the way the looked against the colors of my canvas so on they went.

This is a small 6x6 wooden canvas.  All of the edges are painted magenta with streaks of turquoise.
I'm so happy with the way she turned out.  I really need to find a name for her.  Any suggestions??  Thanks so much for joining me today & have a beautiful day!!

Fairy Wishes

Hello you guys!!  I'm back with a new canvas and this one is big.  I'm going whimsical on this piece, I'm calling it Fairy Wishes:

This is canvas is 16x20 and 1.5" deep.  I started just like I always do, you know with absolutely no idea of what I'm gonna create, lol.  I just picked a couple of colors that I love and started painting.

With the base colors down, I started adding these flowing vines.  I really enjoy the fluid motion of creating curves so I always add them in somewhere.  At this point I walked away for a little while til a burst of inspiration hit me.

I found a photo of girl with beautiful purple hair that inspired me to create this fairy.

I spent a lot time tweaking her, I'm self taught so I just do the best I can and learn as I go.

I started adding circles and when I added some highlights they transformed into bubble so I just went with it, lol.

I used book text, acrylic paints, gouache, spray ink, stencils, markers and stamps to create all of my layers.

The edges are painted in a muted teal.  That's it for today friends, THANK YOU so much stopping by and spending a little part of your day with me!!

May you touch Dragonflies and Stars,
Dance with Fairies and touch the Moon

Have a magical day!!

Crazy in Love

Hi everyone, I've got a really quick post to share with you today.  I've been a bit under the weather lately so I'm gonna keep it super short.

I've managed to get some work done when my meds kick in and I wanted to share my latest canvas.

This is a small wooden canvas, 6x6 I think and it's 1.5" deep.

I used acrylic paints a rubon for the sentiment and a stamp for the lace border up top.

I love the bohemian vibe of this piece.  Okay folks, that's it for today!  Thank you so much for stopping by, hugs to you all :D

Hello, hello!  I hope you all are doing fabulous today.  I'm so glad you've joined us for our RED themed hop.  Red is such a beautiful and powerful color don't you think.  It can convey love, passion and spark energy.  It has the power to influence your mood for example a kitchen/dinning room painted RED will make you feel happy and encourages a healthy appetite.  RED in a living room or office will keep you energized while RED in a bedroom will make it hard to unwind.  RED has always been one of my favorite colors but I've started to mellow out in my old age, lol and now I lean toward the calm of blues.  It's funny how color preferences change as we mature.   Any who, today I'm using RED to create a romantic mood.

I recycled a scrap piece of 4x4 and a wooden dowel.  I predrilled holes into the wood then inserted the dowel.  I used the Husky heavy duty scissors to cut the dowels.

I glued glitter to the top of the wood and outlined the edges with beaded trim.  I used the NEW Vintage Melange set (Psst...it's on sale this month) and the Flourish Elements set.  Small wooden dowels are holding up each of the elements.

This lovely lady is on the NEW Vintage Melange set (Psst...don't forget, it's on sale this month).  I used Prismacolor pencils and Stickles to color her.  The frame is from my stash.  It was white but I painted it black then distressed it by wiping it with a baby wipe.

To cover up the wood, I added crepe paper then layered vintage trim and black sequence trim.  The sentiment is stamped onto canvas.  You can find it on the Valentine Wishes stamp set

That's it, pretty easy right?!  Before I let you go, I wanna tell you about the PWP February Challenge.  This month we're having an Anything Goes Challenge.  The winner will win a $20.00 gift certificate so go check it out.  I hope you enter, here's the link: PWP Anything Goes Challenge

Let me introduce you to my beautiful sun chaser.  I've been working on her for awhile now and I was finally able to finish her last night.  I really LOVE the way she turned out.

I love gypsies and I was inspired by Kellie Pickler's "Little Bit Gypsy".  I definitely think I'm a "little bit gyspy", lol.  If you follow me on FB, they you've seen her coming to life slowly.  She's painted on wood and I started with her then added the background last.

I used a combination of acrylic paints and stamps.  She is hand drawn but the sentiment, peacock feathers, butterflies and circles are stamped.

I am SO SO PLEASE with the way she turned out.  Well guys, I won't take to much of your time.  Thank you so much for stopping by and sharing a little piece of your day with me.  I hope you'll stop back by tomorrow for the PWP DT Blog Hop.

HAVE A BEAUTIFUL, BLESSED DAY!!!
