Merry Texmas!

Welcome to the weekend friends, we made it!!!!!  Lol, let the good times roll, let's get this party started, etc..........!!!!  This weekend I'm very excited to be participating in the Shrooms & Blooms Blog Hop along with an amazing line up of talented ladies.  This was such a fun theme to work on and I can't wait to show you what I came up with.  All of the projects are gonna be super fun and of course you know, there is gonna be AWESOME blog candy along the way too!  Thanks to Paper Wings Productions, I'm gonna be sharing one of my favorite PWP stamp sets with one LUCKY winner!  So make sure you stop by and leave a comment tomorrow!!

Okay, so remember the Peace on Earth Reindeer?!  Well I liked how it turned out so much that I went and all the ones Michaels had left on the shelf.  When I was showing my DH, he said "you need to make one with the Texas flag" so that's exactly what I did.

Cute, right!  The blue patterned paper is from the Paper Studio Vintage Nation paper pack and the red and white papers are from my scrap bins.  I use the George Cricut cartridge to cut the star and used a Faber Castell pen to add faux stitching all around.  I've taken this down to Homestead so hopefully someone will love it enough to give it a new home ;D

I wanna WELCOME Summer_Sunset54!!  Thank you so much for stopping by my blog and deciding to follow along!  I really appreciate all of you & love reading your sweet commments!!

HAVE A WONDERFUL DAY & I'LL SEE YA TOMORROW AT THE HOP!!!

Dia De Los Muertos Calavera

Happy Friday Friends!!  Do you have big plans this weekend?  I'll be participating in a craft fair on Saturday then relaxing on Sunday :D

I've been having so much fun working on Halloween and Fall projects this year, I hope you're not getting tired of them yet.  I'll be turning my attention to Christmas before you know it, so just bare with me a little longer ;D.  Today I have a Dia De Los Muertos Calavera to share with you.

This started out as a paper mache skull from Michaels and I just went to town with all the beautiful bright paints I could find in my bin.

I did everything freehand and tried to let it just flow.

Here's a look at the other side.

The roses are all by Paper Studio.

I love the way this turned out.  This year was the first time I've ever worked on any type of Day of the Dead project and I have to tell you it's been really nice to learn about this part of my culture.  Right now I'm working on a few more skull ornaments before I finish up with all my Halloween projects.  I'm hoping to get them finished up tonight for the fair tomorrow.  Well, I better get to work!  Thank you so much for stopping by today for all your kind comments.  Have a wonderful weekend!!!

Flags at Ft. Sam - Memorial Day

Every year the Scouts in our area come together at the Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery to place flags on the grave sites of the men and women who have died in military service for their country.  The scouts take on the responsibility of making sure that each and every fallen solider is honored in preparation of the Memorial Day Holiday.  As a combat veteran myself, this event is especially moving.  I'm so proud of my son and all of the other scouts who participate in this event.

I used the Vintage Nation paper pack by Paper Studio, My Mind's Eye Lost & Found, K&Company Americana Stitched Adornments & Die Cut Cardstock, Ruby Red Bazzill Cardstock and Cricut Base Camp.

I cut his photo out and used pop dots to bring it out

A hidden note to my son

Thanks for visiting my blog!
Have a Great Day!!
