Winged Things PWP DT Blog Hop & Giveaway!!

Happy Friday my sweet bloggie friends & WELCOME to the “Winged Things” Paper Wing Production's Design Team Blog Hop & Giveaway!  If you've arrived here from Tara's Blog, then you're in the right place.  But, if you just happened to stop by for a little visit then I would love for you to start at the very beginning so you don't miss out on any of my DT sisters' AH-MAZING projects.  Just CLICK HERE to start at the beginning.

This month we’re featuring some of PWP’s gorgeous winged stamp sets and we’re giving away a gift certificate to one lucky follower.

For a chance to win, all you need to do is: be a follower of the Paper Wings Productions blog, The Aviary.  Visit each of the participating designer's blogs and leave them some love.  Then go back to The Aviary and leave a comment letting them you completed the hop.  To increase your chances of winning, like the Paper Wings Productions Facebook page and/or invite your friends to the hop.  Then just come back and let us know!  Be sure to leave a separate comment for each of the additional entries.  The winner will be announced on Tuesday, March 5th, 2013 on the Paper Wings Productions blog.

Are you enjoying all of the beautiful "winged" projects?!  I know I am and I'm super excited about having my friend Heather Lynn join us today.  I first met Heather here in blogland when I started blogging.  She was one of my very first followers and we quickly became friends.  Heather Lynn has really helped me grow my blog over the last year and meet many of you.  So I am extremely grateful to her for all of her kindness and for her friendship.

Okay, are you ready to see my "Winged Thing"?!  Here she is, beckoning you to fly with her:

This is an 8x8 canvas and I think I'll call it "Gypsy Angel".

The first thing I did was apply these beautiful Moroccan shapes with molding paste and a Martha Stewart stencil.  Once that was dry, I painted around the shapes with yellow soft body acrylic paint.

Next I applied a light coat of pink paint to some of the shapes and blue Pearl-Ex to the rest.  Then I used the text stamp from the PWP Text Melange stamp set.

I also randomly stamped the castle from the Prince Clear Stamp set all over the canvas to help create a little more interest in my background.  I really love the whimsy that this stamp brings to my piece.

With my background done I moved onto creating my focal image.  This beautiful lady is the "With Bird" cling stamp and let me tell you, I really LOVE this stamp.  Besides being gorgeous, she is large!  This stamp measures 5 x 3.5, isn't that AWESOME?!  I stamped her on cardstock, fussy cut and colored her in with a combination of Tim Holtz Distress Markers and Prismacolor pencils.  I also added A LOT of bling with Stickles.  It's hard to tell in the pic but she really shines.  Oh and I gave her muslin stamped angel wings.

The sentiment I used is from the Bird Melange Cling Stamp set.

With my "Gypsy Angel" complete, it was time to add all of those little touches that really bring everything together.  So I dug into my stash of goodies for bling, lace, flowers, buttons and this cute little bird from the Bird Melange Cling Stamp set.

Here's a closer look at the Prima bling mixed in with the flowers.

I hope you liked my "Gypsy Angel" as much as I do and I hope you continue with the hop!!  Up next is this week's birthday girl: Amber!! (her birthday was on Tue so don't forget to give her a little birthday love)
