Teacher Appreciation Gift

These are actually gifts that I gave last year.  This year, the school has changed up the gifts for each day to curve the cost for parents wishing to participate in the gift giving.  For this project, I used a cereal box to create the base and covered it with DCWV's Grade School stack.  I added a piece of fabric to Mrs. O'Dell's box and a recycled Bath & Body Works ribbon to Mrs. Bernhart's box.
Yesterday, I ended up having a medical emergency with my youngest and kept him home today to keep an eye on things.  I'm gonna try and work on some journal's that he can take to his teacher's tomorrow.  Yesterday was flowers and chocolates day so I sent in mini orchids (my favorite) and chocolates for each of his teachers.
Well, I better get going, it's payroll week again so I've got to get that done.  Plus handle whatever else comes up, cuz you know.... there is always something, right.  After all that, I can finally start working on those journals.  I just can't stay up late working on projects like I use to cuz my body just won't do it anymore, lol.  Hope you have a great day and THANKS so much for stopping by and commenting!!!

Teacher Thank You Card

Ok, I've got my second card done.  The funny thing is I was doing real good on it, then I realized that I had attached everything to the front of the envelope instead of the card!  Luckily, I have some of that Scrapper's Removal stuff so I was able to take it all off.  Bad thing about it is, now I'm gonna have to make an envelope or cover the front of it too.
Well, hope your having a great day and THANKS so much for stopping by today!!! :D

Thank you card

I hope you all had a great weekend.  Mine started out really good because we had all our boys at the house.  My two older boys spent the night with their families so we got to have breakfast and dinner together.  I just loved having the whole family together.  We don't get to do that to often with every one's busy schedule.
On Sunday we hit a bit of a snag which is why I didn't get a chance to post yesterday but it's all work out now :D  Anyway, here is the card I started on Friday for one of my son's teachers.  I think I got a little carried away with the inking, lol.  I really should have cut my circle before I stamped and embossed the "thank you".  I tried to use the "center" feature on my Cricut but I couldn't get it to work for me so I tried my best to cut a circle.  Well, I still have a lot of projects to complete for Teacher Appreciation week so wish me luck!  Have a Great Day!!

Pint Size Artist

I'm so happy it's Friday, you just don't know!  I think it's gonna be a busy weekend though with no time to relax :(  Oh well, at least my DH will be home :D
Ok, so today I've got a two page spread for you.  I thought I'd give my vacation album a little rest before I bore you to death, lol.

I love art so I started my kids painting early.  This was my little ones first time playing with paint and he just loved it :D  Yup, a boy after my own heart.  Actually, both my boys love art just as much as me which makes me really happy.

I used some blue cardstock and everything else is what he painted.  The little hand prints are from a rubber stamp and white paint.

 His Masterpiece!!

Well, I'm sure there are tons of things I should be doing right now so I better get to it.
Have a wonderful weekend!!!!

The Wild

I've got some more Universal Studios goodness for you today!  I think this is one of my favorite layouts, I really love the way it turned out:

These guys were so much fun!  They made a really GRAND entrance with music blaring, it definitely felt like the party was kickin off, lol!

I used my Cricut to cut the circles and title.  Then I just went to town with the sewing machine and added the crazy stitching.  I used a punch to round all the corners and inked them up for a softer look.

Well, I hope you liked today layout :D
Thanks so much for visiting me and for all the feedback on my mixed media piece!!
TTYL!

Live the Life You've Imagined - Mixed Media

Do you remember the canvas I showed you a teeny tiny piece of about a week ago?
Well I finally had a chance to get back to it last night.  When I started this piece I was envisioning a cloudy sky with the sun desperately trying to break through.  We were going through a lot at the time and it was the way I was feeling.  As the week went on.........the sun did finally shine in my life so I had trouble completeing my original vision for the piece.

So it ended up COMPLETELY different!  This is what I did to it last night:

I guess I'm feeling back to myself because it's definitely my style.  Do you see the globs of tissue paper?  They were gonna be clouds.   I add my favorite colors, blue and red then sprayed them with water to drip the paint.  Next came the black tape that I split in half and criss crossed.

I knew I wanted to use this Tim Holtz stamp and actually attached it the canvas under the tag but I decided it didn't have enough umf.  I felt like I need to distract the eye from the clumps of tissue paper so I added the doily, created the tag, stamped the image again and added the flowers.  I'm really not sure if I'm happy with the way this turned out or if the composition is balanced enough so I thought I'd ask you.
What do you think?  Is it visually balanced?  I added the strip of black tape and lace to the right hoping it would do the trick.  Over all I think that considering the fact that it started completely different, it's ok.

Well, I think I'm gonna try to make it into town for some errands this morning so I've gotta finish up my doggie chores so I can get ready.  I also have a school function this evening so I won't be visiting your blogs til late tonight.

As always, thanks for stopping by......can't wait to read your comments!  They always make me smile :D

Blast Off!

I went BIG & BOLD on this layout, opting for just one large photo.

Since it was a layout with Jimmy & Dora, I split the design in two.  Jimmy's side is all about space and Dora's is softer with flowers and a background paper that reminded me of a Mexican pattern.
Well, thanks so much for stopping by!!
Adios!!

NASCAR

Hello Friends!  I hope you all had a wonderful weekend :D  I'll tell you all about mine in just a minute but first here is a layout from our trip to Universal:

My son LOVES cars so he wanted to take pics with every single car on display.  I seem to have a problem narrowing down the photos I want to scrap so I tend to use a lot on my layouts.  I've got a total of seven on this bad boy :D  I wanted to keep the colors simple since the cars are so colorful.  I found the NASCAR image online and printed it out on photo paper.  The blank and white checker pattern is part of the downloaded image.

"Friends along the way" is also a downloaded font that I printed out.  I hope you're able to read the journaling on the photo.  This nice lady was trying to take her photo and my bratty son ran up to take his pic.  Believe me, his Dad and I told him to get out of the photo but the boy would not move!  We were starting to get upset with him so she gracious invited to share the pic with her.

Okay, on to our weekend!  My DH had to go out of town on business so we all decided to tag along.  We had a great time and packed a lot of fun into a day and a half.  I was trying to get on here to do some blog reading on the drive but my mobile network was giving me a hard time.  I opened a window from my dashboard to read a blog and leave a comment but somehow I ended up on somebody else's blog.  It was some who was also leaving a comment.  Anyway, I looked around the new blog and decided to follow.  I left a comment and let them know I was a new follower but when I closed the window...........I realized I was on someone else's blog!  So if I left a message on your blog calling you Millie, I'm so sorry!  It was my laptop and mobile network fighting each other and making my life miserable, lol.  After that little mishap, I decided to leave blogger alone until I got back home.
Well, I have to run.  My house is starting to look a mess and I need to run to the store to get a few things for the week.  Thanks to everyone who stopped by over the weekend and took the time to leave me a comment! :D  I plan on catching up on my blog reading tonight.
Have a wonderful day!!

The Lost Continent

Hello friends, I've got another layout from our trip to Universal Studios for you today:
I downloaded the for the title and used some Once upon a time velum.  Super simple layout here, nothing fancy at all but I'm still pretty happy with the way it turned out :D

WARNING: DOGGIE TALK FROM HERE ON OUT :D

Thanks for all your lovely comments about my four legged babies :D  They mean the world to us!
@Melissa, no we're not breeders but we did breed our dogs last fall.  They are our family pets and it was one time breeding.
@Kayla Renee, they definitely keep me busy!  I have this sign shaped like a dog bone that reads, "Today's agenda: Take Dog Out, Bring Dog In".  I feel like so much of my day is taken up with taking my babies out, feeding them, taking them out again and bring them back in, then repeat, lol.  It can be so exhausting sometimes.  We live on two acres and have one acre reserved for the dogs.  This area is fenced in for them to run and play but I still have to walk them out there and make sure they have plenty of water while they're out playing.
@Melissa, Baby is totally in charge.  They all step away from the food bowl when she comes around, lol.
@Tanya, Happy Birthday to Griffin!!  Ours ABs are more of the Johnson type.  I really love this breed, they can get such a bad rap just because of their appearance but they are total companion dogs and love their families so much.  We have never had a problem with our babies, they are all so sweet and love on everyone that comes around.   I'm gonna have to look for pics of Griffin on your blog :D

Take care everyone, hope I didn't bore you with my doggie talk!  I really am a HUGE dog lover and my four legged babies mean the world to me.  Thank you for all your nice comments!!
