My Very 1st Scrapbook Page

Hi everyone!  Did you have a great weekend?  Mine was CRAZY!  If you follow me on FB then just skip ahead because you've already heard about my weekend, lol.

Well, let me tell you what happened to me.  Remember I was gonna be in my very first craft show, well it was a complete disaster.  It was outdoors and the weather was terrible.  It didn't rain but the winds were really strong.  My canopy lifted completely off the ground and knocked over one of my tables.   Of course it was the one table that had a glass top and it broke all over the place.  Everything was falling over with the wind so I couldn't set up like I had planned.   Seriously I was holding back the tears and I just wanted to go home but I stuck it out.  Once it started, hardly anybody showed up and after about an hour some of the vendors started packing it up.  On the bright side, I did sell a little bit and I met some really nice people too.  I'll just chalk it up to a learning experience so it's all good!

Okay now for some scrapbooking!  Today I'm sharing the very 1st layout I ever made:

I started out with orange cardstock and layered in some Halloween patterned papers.  I even used a scrap of fabric down at the bottom but here's the best part:  I love inking the edges of everything so I wanted to use this technique on my journaling but remember, this is my very first time scrapbooking right.  I had to idea how to achieve this look so I thought the only way was to burn my paper.  Yes... I said burn, lol!  I printed out my journaling and even added a little clip art.  Then I pulled out a lighter and burned the edges, lol.  I thought my smoke alarm was gonna go off!!  I can't believe I did that, luckily I found some videos online after that and learned all about inking :D

Here's a closer look at "my inking".  Well, thanks so much for stopping by today and have a wonderful day!!

  6. Amazing LO Norma - fabulous colour! So sorry your craft show was a bit of a downer - unfortunately with outdoor venues you are under the laws of nature. Hopefully your next one will be indoors:-) TFS and have a great week.
