Hello, Hello! Did you all have a good weekend? Mine seems like it just flew by. I did get a chance to complete a couple of projects and I have a couple of others started. So today, I've got a new altered project to share with you!!
This is a 10x6 wooden plaque and I'm calling this one "Love Birds".
I picked up this plaque at Ross for $.49, not bad huh.
I pulled the bird off, applied gesso, then adhered scraps of fabric and patterned papers. Then I applied another layer of gesso and stenciled with some Dylusions.
Next came some red paint, molding paste and a Prima stencil.
I let it sit for about 24hrs to make sure the molding paste was dry. Then I accented with some light blue paint and a white pen.
I found this sentiment in my scrap bin. I stamped it on some canvas but never used it. I also did some other stamping here and there for interest.
I added swirls with my 3-D Enamels. I really love this stuff the only down side is the drying time so when I use it I normally set it aside and start a new project. I also used some Tim Holtz crackle paste for some added texture.
You know its funny because I use to really have trouble working with purple but I noticed that I seem to be reaching for it more and more. Well that's it my sweet bloggie friends!!
Thanks so much for stopping by & have a beautiful day!!!
Gorgeous creation Norma - what a fabulous sentiment and love how you did the branch with the birds on - stunning. TFS

ReplyDeleteNorma! I'm amazed at your work. I adore your "love birds" thanks so much for walking us through your project. You are one talented lady! Have a fab Monday!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful plaque, love the birds :)
ReplyDeleteThis is absolutely stunning my friend!! I love the gorgeous design and the colors!! The details are amazing as always!! What a fabulous plaque!!
ReplyDeleteRegarding the White Dylusions spray...I only used a tiny bit to spritz on the project so it wouldn't overwhelm it, but I didn't really try it out. I hope to in the next couple of days so I'll let you know how opaque it is. I was able to purchase all of the new sprays...if you want to know where I got them, let me know and I'll give you the info!! Happy Monday :)
