Hey there! I've been playing around in my art journal trying to get more familiar with my Dylusions Inks. So this is my latest art journal page and it's done entirely in inks:
I started with the page on the right using the Donna Downey stencil that came in my PWP Jan Mixed Media kit. I really like this stencil and have been using it on just about everything lately.
To create this background I simply sprayed my page with various Dylusions inks so you'll notice there is a lot of white because of the stencil.
Since I had a lot of ink on my stencil, I flipped it over for this side and pressed it down. Personally I like this side better because I like having a lot of color. White space designs are difficult for me because I always having a nagging urge to cover everything, lol.
Next I did some more stenciling using the Prima mask from my PWP Jan Mixed Media kit because I'm trying to perfect that technique. I've having trouble getting it to give me a good impression that I'm able to use.
I did a bit of doodling and stamping too.
So these pages were all about learning and one thing I learned is that Fixatif won't keep these inks from smearing. The other thing I realized is that it's REALLY hard to get white Liquitex Ink to stay white. It kept picking up the colors under it.
So I think I'll keep playing until I master my inking techniques ;D Thanks so much for stopping by and have a wonderful day!!
so awesome! love the hearts!
ReplyDeleteNorma your art journal is absolutely incredible and so much work has gone into it. Just amazing!
ReplyDeleteNorma, your pages are wonderful. I love Dylusions Spray Inks such bright and wonderful colors. To keep my spray inks from running once I dry them I spray Krylon clear acrylic on it and that helps.
ReplyDeleteI love all the color in the page !! I haven't attempted any liquitex yet .. a rookie at art journaling still :)

The art journal pages are really stunning. It reminds me of classy graffiti (one of my favorite things on my train ride to Paris from London was the amazing graffiti). Aren't the Dylusion inks fun? Love your use of stamps on the pages too.
