Hi everyone, thank you so much for stopping by!!  Today I'm working with the gorgeous 7 Dots Studio Nature Walk Collection that was generously supplied by our guest Nani ke Ola.  I'm also using these beautiful Paper Wings Productions stamp sets: Writing Backgrounds, Vintage Lace, Fringe Lace, Sunburst Pattern, Hanging Stars and Perfect Alphabet.

I'm using a 12x12 black matte board for my background.  I wanted to make sure I had a strong background for my wet mediums.  The beautiful weathered wood 7 Dots Studio paper is called Musical Blooms.  I trimmed it down to 10.5" to allow the a black border to show.  Next I added texture using a Heidi Swap stencil and mask set with molding paste.

Once the molding paste began to set, I imprinted the butterfly with the Writing Backgrounds Script stamp.

After that I spritz the butterfly with black Tattered Angels spray ink and outlined it with a white Signo pen.  Later on I decided that the white edges need to be toned down so I went over them with a grey marker.

Using the butterfly mask included in the Heidi Swapp stencil set, I began creating a stamped layer.  This is the Vintage Lace stamp.

I added more white paint splatters to balance out the splatters printed on the 7 Dots patterned paper.

Layering time!  I layered a doily from my stash, Nature Walk tags and stickers.  I also added a tag that I created using the Fringe Lace and Sunburst Pattern stamps.

My focal image is from the Vintage Cuties Clip Art Sheet.

I created my sentiment using both the Perfect Alphabet and Hanging Stars stamp set.

Finally to soften things up a bit I added beautiful ribbon and trim.

Okay, it's time to send you off to the final stop of the hop: The Aviary

Art Journal

Happy Monday!!  I hope you all had a wonderful Father's Day and weekend.  Today I thought I'd share an art journal page that I completed at the Great American Scrapbook Show in Arlington.  During the show I demoed a lot of products so I have a ton of pages in my art journal filled with beautiful colors.  While I was there I decided to take one of those pages and actually complete an art journal page with the supplies I had on hand.  So this is what I came up with:

The base of the page is made up of various Lindy's inks.  Then I layered Pink Paislee papers on top.

Even this photo is off of a Pink Paislee sheet.  The gorgeous hand dyed ribbons were part of the items Paper Wings had for sale at the show.

This gorgeous chippie is by Blue Fern.  This is the pole that the bird cage is meant to hang off of but I like to beak up the chippies and use them in different ways.  So I used this one to visually ground the focal image.

This is the Blue Fern bird cage.  I sprayed it with several Tattered Angels and Lindy's sprays to create this look.  I even used some Goosebumps texture spray and I have to say, I love the way it turned out.  I really like the contrast of the turquoise against all of the muted colors.

Here's one last look at the completed page ;D

Thanks so much for joining me today!!  Have a wonderful day!!!

Ah....LOVE is definitely in the air and I'm having a blast playing with all of beautiful shades of pink, red and cream.  They've been my go to colors for all of my recent projects and this one is no exception :D  I created a beautiful little banner that can be used anywhere you'd like to add little Valentine's Day decor:

To create this banner, I used my Cricut Pretty Pennants cartridge.   I cut the canvas using banner 1 at real dial size 7.25".

Next I spritz the canvas using a polka stencil and Tattered Angels Viva Pink Glimmer Mist.  Once the mist was dry, I randomly stamped the PWP Writing Cling Stamp and the Eiffel Tower with Stazon.  Then I ran each of the banners through my sewing machine, stitching along the edges with red thread.

This cute little lady is from the Princess stamp set.  I did some paper piecing on her skirt, colored with Primacolor pencils and highlighted with Stickles.  The heart is cut with the Cricut Accent Essentials cartridge and embossed with my Cuttlebug Swiss Dots embossing folder.  For some extra texture, I added white washed corrugated cardboard to the inside of the heart.

I added "ooh la la" and "Je Taime" from the Paris Stamp Set on each of the banners.

I cut all of the letters out of My Mind's Eye Lost & Found papers with the Cricut Script Font cartridge.  Each of the letter are cut at 5" and shadowed with black cardstock.

To dress up my banner, I added scraps of red fabrics and ribbon.  I also added some clear beaded trim and the banner is hanging on jute string.

I hope you liked my Valentine's Day Banner!  Be sure to head on over to Tara's Blog next, she has a BEAUTIFUL project to share that you won't wanna miss!!
